WitrynaJohn Keats remains one of the most familiar and beloved of English poets, but has received surprisingly little critical attention in recent years. This study is a fresh contribution to Keats criticism and Romantic scholarship, positioning Keats as a figure of philosophical interest who warrants renewed attention. WitrynaKeats’ “Ode to a Nightingale” proves itself to be an excellent example of Wordsworth’s definition of poetry. The poem was composed in the Spring of 1819 and was published in July, 1819 in an issue of the Annals of the Fine Arts. The occasion of the poem is very interesting as reported by Keats’ friend Charles Armitage Brown.
